Retains Vivaldi's overall intent, yet is accessible and musically
satisfying to intermediate-level piano students. Fred Kern's
simplified arrangement reduces the melody and accompaniment to
mostly single-note lines in both hands, except for portions of
"Autumn" that use some thirds and sixths.

These magnificent concertos are distinguished from all other ensemble music of their time by their emphasis on virtuosity, their rhythmic exuberance, flexible instrumentation, independent approaches to thematic development, and their genuine innovations in concerto form. Newly edited and engraved under the expert guidance of Dr. Eleanor Selfridge-Field, this work appears in full score, reproduced from an authoritative source.
Under the title L'Estro armonico Vivaldi wrote a collection of
twelve instrumental concertos. Concerto #9 (originally for solo
violin, strings and continuo) is in three movements. This piece has
been made famous in the brass world by the German Brass with an
excellent arrangement by Matthias Hofs, who also acted as the
soloist in his edition. Other editions have also been done by
Alison Balsom and other trumpet soloists.

Dowani 3 Tempi Play Along is an effective and time-tested method of
practicing that offers more than conventional play-along editions.
Dowani 3 Tempi Play Along enables you to learn a work
systematically and with accompaniment at different tempi. The first
thing you hear on the CD is the concert version in a first-class
recording with solo instrument and orchestral, continuo, or piano
accompaniment. Then the piano or harpsichord accompaniment follows
in slow and medium tempo for practice purposes with the solo
instrument heard softly in the background at a slow tempo. Finally,
you can play at the original tempo to the accompaniment of an
orchestra, piano, or basso continuo. All versions appearing on the
CD were recorded live by renowned soloists, accompanists, and
orchestras. There are no synthesised sounds in a Dowani edition!

Classic Mallet Trios 2 features four classics arranged for marimba,
vibraphone, and orchestra bells. These contrasting, stand-alone
perennials also work collectively as a four-movement presentation.
Mouret's Rondeau is one of the most performed fanfares in music,
while Handel's Sarabande is a popular study in theme and
variations. Vivaldi's "Autumn" from The Four Seasons always charms,
and Handel's festive Hornpipe has thrilled music lovers for
centuries. Wonderfully suited for solo and ensemble applications,
these versatile gems will also thrill audiences in concert
settings.
